Timber Sealer
|
Timber Sealer is a transparent water-based coating, based on concentrated, blended acrylic emulsions. It is formulated with high substrate wetting capabilities, has no inorganic fillers, and dries to a clear, impervious film. Timber Sealer is water resistant, alkali resistant, resists yellowing and has some exterior durability. It has been specifically designed for timber to seal the substrate against moisture, fungal problems and other atmospheric contaminants.
Designed for use as a primer/sealer coat, Timber Sealer assists in the uniform top coating of the Timber Glow® and XUV systems and maximises the UV protective qualities of this product. Fantastic results are expected when Timber Sealer is used on untreated timber or MDF board, for doors, windows, skirting, decking, cladding, railing, fencing, or anywhere timber is being used as a substrate.
It is also used as a stand-alone product for the heads and stiles of wooden doors, and doors manufactured of composite materials. It is particularly useful to prevent ingress of moisture when new doors have been hung and are subject to adverse weather, before final finish coating is applied. |

Timber XUV™
|
Timber XUV™ is a new generation, transparent water-based coating, based on pure 100% block resistant acrylic resins. It is formulated to level and flow well and give exterior durability as a clear, un-pigmented UV inhibiting coating.
Designed for both interior and exterior use and ideal for timber application (e.g. timber furniture, trim, doors, frames and other uses where matching surfaces are close on each other). This versatile product is water clear and imparts no colour change or loss of definition of the grain characteristics of your timber. The superior waterproofing and UV resistant characteristics of the material provide a highly durable and long lasting finish that you’ll enjoy for years to come.
Timber XUV™ is comparatively soft and forgiving to the movement of the timber coated with it. It is not designed to be suitable for heavy wear floor areas, nor for fine finish polished timber furniture.
For best results adhere to the following simple guidelines! Before applications timber should be clean and the surface dry; any stains, stencils or other marks should be removed, as these would otherwise be ‘locked in’ under the transparent coating finish. Nail holes should be filled with DCS acrylic timber putty of the appropriate colour that should be allowed to dry and sanded prior to the first coating application. Timber which has been previously oiled with linseed should either be allowed to age prior the application of Timber XUV™ system, or thoroughly washed with organic solvent to ensure proper bonding. |
